🍃🍃🍃 Quartz crystals are silicon dioxide, one of earth's most abundant minerals and have piezoelectric properties- they develop an electric potential upon the application of mechanical stress or pressure. Quartz crystals are commonly used as Crystal Oscillators, an electronic oscillator circuit that uses the mechanical resonance of a vibrating crystal of piezoelectric material to create an electrical signal with a precise frequency. This is nice specimen piece, super clear, and completely intact without chips. This piece has also Self-Healed, which means at one point it broke off from a matrix rock, and the underside of the crystal continued to grow, forming a lovely lace-like pattern.
